Cars in general
Not surprisingly, the most popular car questions were related to MOT, car tax and insurance, with responsible drivers eager to meet all the legal requirements for keeping their vehicles running safely on the road.
As always, the questions of which car to buy and which oil to use for your car were also highly searched. Another popular question was, 'How much is my car worth?'
Buying a car
Questions about buying a car were pretty straightforward. With, 'How to buy a car in UK' appearing as the most searched question on buying, and 'How to buy a used car' ranking in second place. Our suspicions are confirmed: A lot of people don't know where to start when it comes to buying a car!
When buying a car for the first time, or even if you're an old hand at driving, the idea of handing over your hard-earned readies to someone you don't know, for something you don't know much about, can be daunting to say the least.
Selling a car
When it comes to selling a car, 'How to sell a car' was, of course, the most highly searched question on the subject, throughout 2021, with 1,6001 people per month searching.
Electric cars
On electric cars − a growing search topic − several questions were focused on the running cost of electric cars, and concerns about charging electric vehicles. For example, 'How much does it cost to charge an electric car', and 'How long does it take to charge an electric car?'
Vans
Searches related to vans were very interesting. Everything from the usual questions about tax, insurance and MOTs …to….. well…all the way through to…. questions about Van Gough and Denise Van Outen!
But seriously folks, a lot of questions seem to be based on worries about safety and documentation; where and how to buy a reliable car, and how to care of your vehicle once you've bought it.
