Beginning April 1, 2024, electric vehicle enthusiasts in Angus will face a revised tariff structure at local charging stations, with costs escalating to 55p per kWh across all charger types. This adjustment is part of Angus Council’s strategy to sustain and enhance the EV charging infrastructure, ensuring its long-term viability and alignment with industry standards.
Moreover, to optimize charger availability and promote equitable usage, an overstay fee of £10 will be instituted. This fee applies to vehicles exceeding the recommended charging duration across slow (7kW), fast (22kW), and rapid (50kW) stations, tailored to each charger’s typical charging window.
This strategic move aims to match private sector rates within Angus, supporting continuous network improvements and accessibility. Public notices and the Charge Places Scotland website offer comprehensive details and guidance for EV users navigating these changes.
Previously, on Thursday, June 1, 2023, Angus Council adjusted the electric vehicle charging tariffs at its public stations. Charging costs escalated from 23p to 41p per kWh for all slow, fast, and rapid chargers under the council's management.
