The Audi TT is "dead" after 662,762 vehicles assembled

Earlier in the current year, Audi unveiled the TT 'Final Edition,' a commemorative vehicle crafted to mark 25 years since the introduction of the original Bauhaus marvel. This iconic car made its debut in About a Boy and became a symbol of design prowess. The 'Final Edition' also serves as a farewell to the Audi TT, as it represents the concluding generation of this model.

This specific unit holds a unique distinction—it is unequivocally the last-ever TT to roll off the production line. Its significance lies in being the ultimate iteration of the Audi TT, marking the end of an era. No more TTs will be brought into existence.

Audi Germany's Instagram post expressed, "With its series debut in 1998, the Audi TT made design history. Now, after 25 years, the last TT Coupe has rolled off the assembly line in Györ, Hungary."

This particular model is a TTS, equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, four-wheel-drive, and a seven-speed S tronic auto gearbox. It not only boasts speed but retains the captivating aesthetic that has characterized the TT over the years. However, despite its allure, the sad reality is that demand for the TT has waned.

While the 'Final Edition' is technically unattainable due to its limited production, the broader decline in TT sales is evident. In the UK, Audi sold 2,672 TTs in 2022, constituting 33 percent of global TT sales for that year.

The attached image succinctly illustrates Audi's TT journey, with a total of 662,762 units sold since 1998. While this figure is commendable, especially considering the TT's distinct character, it pales in comparison to the sales volumes of SUVs or crossovers.

For those who appreciate the timeless appeal of the Audi TT, CarsVansandBikes offers a selection of used Audi TTs for sale, accessible through the following link: CarsVansandBikes Audi TT Listings.
