2014 VOLKSWAGEN CADDY 1.6 DIESEL AUTOMATIC DRIVE FROM CHAIR WHEELCHAIR WAV OR IDEAL MICRO CAMPER CONVERSION. Priced at £8995 This is a 'Drive from wheelchair' vehicle. It has a fully automatic gearbox, with accelerator and brake hand joysticks, which are known as 'Paravan' controls. The standard accelerator and brake pedal can also be used if required, so can used as a totally standard VW caddy if required keeping the driver's seat fitted. The vehicle itself is absolutely stunning, it has had one owner former keeper, has full mobility service history, and has only covered 32000 miles from new, and really don't think you would find a better example. It can be solely operated by a single user from start to finish. There are 2 options to use this WAV. The first is that, the wheelchair user comes into the vehicle with the wheelchair and right into the front of the vehicle to where the driver's seat would be. The wheelchair then fits where the driver's seat would have been, so that they can drive the vehicle solely themselves. The steering wheel can also be removed to gain more access and then the steering and brake operated by the joystick controls. The second option, is the standard wheelchair vehicle operation where the wheelchair user sits in the rear and clipped in there wheelchair with the securing straps, and there is a seatbelt for them to be secured safely. This means the driver's seat is retained and is a standard WAV. You basically hold the 2 buttons remote which opens the boot lid fully, and then the ramp comes down. This then enables the user to drive their wheelchair into the vehicle and drive into where the driver's seat would be located. You press the other button on the remote which then stows the ramp and shuts the boot lid shut. There is a seat fitted on the driver's side, so can be used as a totally normal vehicle depending on your needs (see photo) this can be completely removed obviously so a wheelchair can be used as the seat instead. It also has an electronic handbrake, which again is operated by a single button on the control panel (ON/OFF) This has press button gear change, so if you want to go in reverse for example, you just press the button, it's as simple as that. So, this is where it gets interesting. It has a full 'Paravan' had control system fitted to the vehicle. This system is absolutely fantastic, and up there with the best conversions on a WAV. You can solely drive the vehicle, including steering the vehicle using your hands with Minimal effort, if you look at the photos there is a two joystick controls that you put your hand on, and this steers the vehicle electronically. The steering wheel can be removed in a matter of seconds for extra space if required. I must stress that If you need to use the Normal pedals they are fully operational as a standard vehicle too so it can be driven by somebody who has fully functional legs for example.
